FEBRUARY CAMPOUT REPORT: LET IT SNOW, WE'LL STILL GO!

Troop 44 traveled to Camp Bob Harden in Saluda, NC hoping to see some winter weather. There hopes were fulfilled, with a vengeance that sent other Troops home! Saturday made the Troop think it was Spring Break, but Sunday jerked them back to Winter with a Quick Cold hand, as the Troop awoke to 28 degree temperatures and a steady freezing rain. The Camp Ranger said it was only going to get worse through the day. A Sunday Service held in a mixture of sleet and snow made everyone aware of the Creator's Power and Beauty as the Camp was slowly blanketed tin white through the day. In Spite of the cold, the entire Troop enjoyed the experience and the roads cleared for a safe trip home on Monday

CITADEL CAMPERALL:LET IT BLOW, LET IT BLOW, LET IT BLOW!

As was the case at Bob Hardin, Troop 44 continued with it's penchant for dealing with whatever came their way . The weekend saw gail force winds and heavy rains that did indeed chase many a hardy scout back to the hills. In traditional 44 spirit, not only did they see the Camporall to the end but also assisted other troops with the severe weather expertise that we seem to gather with each fun camping experience. The scouts of Troop 44 displayed their prowess in Lashings, Close Order Drill, Hand Grenade Tossing (we are all safe), Physical fitness, Cannon Firing and other events. Unfortunately the baseball game we were to attend was cancelled, but the evening ended with fun at a Citadel basketball game and a Order of the Arrow campfire later that evening. Congratulations to Adam Jones on his Tap Out for O/A and Ryan W. can indian dance.
